Holst Supersoft

  • Your last chance to get your hands on this iconic yarn! When it's gone, it's gone...

"Supersoft" by Holst Garn is a Shetland-type yarn which is sold unwashed (i.e. it contains spinning oil) and which “blooms” and softens considerably when washed. We recommend washing and drying your gauge/tension swatch before measuring it!

It's one of those special yarns that hasn't been overworked or processed and has a classic charm about it.

Non-superwash, pure new wool blend of 50% Merino wool and 50% Shetland wool which works really well for colourwork, knitting and crochet. Holst Supersoft yarn has bags of character, and that beautiful sheepy scent that so many of us love!

And although it's called "Supersoft", wool-sensitive people might find it not-soft-enough right next to the skin. For a "real wool" in the Shetland bracket, this one is definitely one of the softest, and it really does soften with washing.

Try it held together with a Silk Mohair - it's spectacular! And because it's on the thinner end of "4Ply-Fingering", the combo might give you the perfect gauge.

All wool is from non-mulesing sources.

We also stock Holst Coast (which is actually much softer!).
    All “Sale” items are non-returnable.
